It was a beautiful winter day today so I headed downtown to see some friends and do a little shopping. While I was out I saw someone burning money which is a fairly common scene around the streets of Taiwan at certain times of the year.
A money offering to the gods.
Food and incense on the offering table.
An offering table with fruits, alcohol, pork, chicken, fish and lots of paper money.
A view of the Grand Hotel (near our house).
Is there some idea on where they think God likes to spend all the money? What happens to the money at the end of the day if it’s still there?
