I was blogging for a graduate class that Laura and I are taking and wrote the following post and thought it might be interesting for family and friends to see too.

I had to laugh when I saw this photo.

While looking for an appropriate avatar for my COETAIL (Certificate of Educational Technology and Information Literacy) class I came across this long lost photo. Here’s a boy that was once on the cutting edge of technology, seen here programing a Commodore Vic-20, circa 1982, in his bedroom. Granted the programs were very rudimentary, but they were cutting edge at the time.
Of course when my wife saw the photo and I tell her the story about teaching myself how to program back in 1982 all she can think of is why didn’t I keep programing and become the founding father of Microsoft, Adobe, Yahoo, Google…$$$. We’ll I didn’t keep programing, because I became more interested in…let’s say the opposite sex. I was in 7th grade after all.
Move forward 28 years and I now find myself sitting in a classroom on a beautiful Saturday just trying to stay ‘information literate’. Life is funny.
Lookin’ good!

I think we did crafts on it some time ago but your dad just cleaned out the linen closet and I noticed it then so it was funny when I saw it in your photo. It’s a real testimate to how time flies. I think we should keep it in the family and see how long it survives!
