Seattle Summers

Summer in Seattle begins on July 5th. It always has and always will. We often get a reminder of what the sun looks like and feels like in early May after hiding for six months and then the sun hides itself for another six weeks until its return on July 5th. It is because of this that there are very few summers as perfect and appreciated as a Seattle summer.

This is probably the number one tourist destination in Seattle, the Pike Street Public Market. Even with the hoards of tourist, it's still fun to wander through.

There are countless farmer’s markets around the city throughout the summer. These pints of strawberries were from the farmer’s market in Magnolia.

This has to be one of the best viewing points for a cityscape in the country.  It has a perfect mix of greenery, urban sprawl, mountains and sky. It is just barely visible in this photo, but Mt. Rainier is just showing itself in the middle of the frame. This is the view you’ll get from Kerry Park on Queen Anne Hill. It is a steep twenty minute walk (or 5 minute cab ride) up Queen Anne Ave from the Space Needle, but you’re rewarded with a fantastic view and a number of cafes, shops and restaurants to take a break.
