The weather is finally starting to cool down a little at night here which makes going out shooting a lot more tolerable. Even after 12 years in the tropics and subtropics (Singapore and Taiwan) I still can’t get used to this heat. Lugging around a big DSLR kit doesn’t help.

That’s where cameras like the little Ricoh GR come in handy. You’re not giving up much, if any image quality and you are gaining a whole lot of lightness and freedom. True, it is a fixed 28mm lens, and an extremely fine one at that, but there’s a great adaptor available that gives you a very wide 21mm fov.

The images in this post were shot jpeg+DNG. The images were imported into Lightroom and processed in Silver Efex Pro.
