Gear Shift

In the first couple months of the year I have seen a fun realignment of gear. I said goodbye to a Nikon D850, an Olympus OMD E-M1 MIII, my beloved Sony RX1r and a few accompanying lenses. It was hardest to say goodbye to the Sony. The RX1r paired with that Zeiss lens was incredible. It served me well for ten years, an eternity for a digital camera.

Big thanks to my local dealer, Leica Store Bellevue, for sourcing a new Q2 Ghost for me and having a used M10 in mint condition available.

In came a Leica, D-Lux7, the Leica M10, a Leica Hodinkee Q2 Ghost and the Leica SL2-S. It’s a set of gear I really appreciate having and don’t take for granted.

IDS makes a perfectly matched aluminum grip for the Ghost.
The main reason for bringing the SL2 into the collection was for days like this.
Good ol’ Map Camera in Tokyo came through with the SL2-S. I’m sure many of you will recognize this scene.
It’s such a classic!
This is a perfect replacement while the M240 is in for service.
